Foundations of Floral Design — A Design Series

The foundation for fabulous floral compositions begins with a series of hands-on workshops that provide the basics for creating festive and artistic designs, with flowers as your medium. Floral CoLab instructor and owner of Fig & Squill, Laura Seita shows you elements of floral design beginning with how to select, process and care for flowers and foliage. Get a thorough introduction to basic design techniques, including greening an arrangement with floral foam or in water.  Learn about the characteristics of flowers and the popular varieties used in traditional or contemporary designs. You will receive step-by-step instruction on how to create multiple arrangements in a variety of containers. On the 3rd class, local floral farmer, Amy Rodrigues of DahliaShed shares her knowledge and experience of being a floral farmer.  This class meets once a week for three weeks as an intensive design study!
